Mummy and Me – Studio Portrait
Mum and her son – Nicholas Anja came to us through National Family Portrait Month. One of our charity programs that we participate in every year. This year we were raising money for BeyondBlue. Little Nicholas was just 4 months old when they came in for their session. Still happy with tummy time but not yet sitting up. Anja had an arm work out to start with not just holding Nicholas but lifting him in the air for some big smiles. When then sat them on the couch and finished with a little cuddle. He was pretty tired by the end… it’s hard work being a model! This was…

Generations family portrait – Nudgee Reserve
Three generations portrait It was so lovely when Jo-Ann got in touch to organise a voucher for her mums birthday. The family had photos with us a couple of years before and wanted to update their portraits with Jo-Ann’s parents included as we did last time. As they wanted a morning session, I chose Nudgee wetlands as there is plenty of nice foliage there in the morning (and afternoon). Not only did they want a nice big group photo but wanted the girls to have photos with the grandparents, as well as family photos and the girls together. You can see that the grandkids have a great relationship with their…

Outdoor Newborn Portrait in North Lakes
Newborn portrait with Milly the Labrador When Samantha got in touch to book her newborn session, she really wanted something outdoors and to include their first child (so to speak) their Labrador Milly. We arranged a session for Lake Samsonvale nice and early in the morning with Grandma coming along to help with the dog during the session. On the morning of it was overcast, but no rain forecast, so I set off for the lake. As I arrived, it was pouring down! Worse than that, the council had closed the park (no idea why) and the big yellow barrier was across the entrance. I phoned Samantha and we…

Isla’s Newborn Portrait Session
North Lake Studio Newborn It was a beautiful session we had with Isla, Mum and Dad. She didn’t really want to go to sleep to start and was more overstimulated when I soothed her. We still got some beautiful photos even while she was awake, including using the new heart shaped bowl again. I also loved that the family had their own wrap to use as well ( the pretty floral one) as well as the white outfit she had on for the full family photos as well. It is always more important to me to use props and outfits that you have, than ones I have in the…

Beautiful afternoon portrait session at Mungarra Reserve
Family of 3 plus fur child family portrait Kshama found me when she found that perfect location for her session. The family had gone for a walk with the dog out by Mungarra Reserve in Petrie an thought, what a beautiful spot for portraits. When they got home and looked up local photographers, BAC was top of the list. This is one of our favourite locations and makes the top 12 list we have published on our website. Included in the session was her husband, daughter Anuksha and the families four-legged member, Milo. There is so much variety at Mungarra reserve, so we started at the back by the creek…

Mum with her son’s studio portrait
National Family Portrait Month repeat family Jilly and her two boys, Lauchie and Teddy signed up for National Family Portrait Month(NFPM) For those that don’t know NFPM is a charity event organised every year to help raise money for a nominated charity. Every photographer that signs up pays a donation and then participants also pay a donation. This covers the cost of a session with a local nominated photographer that also ensures an image from that session will go into a book collated from all the participants at the end of the year. BAC Photography is proud to have supported NFPM for 4 years in a row now along with…

Family Portrait in the studio – Schitts Creek style
When Matthew got in touch to book their session, he said that he and the family wanted to do their session in the style of ‘Schitts Creek’… If you’re like me and have never heard of it, it’s a TV program on Netflix. So a quick check on google and I had an idea of what they wanted. Mostly something with the two armchairs. In the studio we have the nice cream ‘chaise’ lounge but not arm chairs… thankfully my friend Juanita who runs a hair dressing salon, had two in her waiting area and let me borrow them for the session. Score! So we used the chair arm…

Family Portrait with Twins in the studio
Sandie enquired about a family portrait with me and over the phone let me know their predicament. Although Sandie was Australian, she and her husband and twins, Harland and Isabelle lived in London! They had come out for an extended Christmas vacation and had gotten stuck here with covid and didn’t want to fly back with the twins and risk getting infected… so here they still are, almost at the end of the year now, living with her parents, waiting for things to open up again so they can travel home. Hubby has been super lucky that his company is allowing him to work remotely although the hours are not…

Generations Family Portrait just for Mum – North Lakes
When Mashi got in touch she was organising a big family portrait for her Mother in Laws Birthday It would be for her husband and his 2 brothers, their parents, the brother’s partners and then the grandkids. I just love it when all the family gets together and we have 3 generations! We did the session down at Lake Eden in North Lakes and made sure that not only did we get the whole family together but the grandparents with the grandkids, the brother together, each individual family plus a girls photo and boys photo. The family order Mum (Grandma) a beautiful 30×12” storyboard – one of our most popular…

Fun family portrait Shorncliffe Beach
We booked Frances and her family in for a portrait down at Shorncliffe by the beach and the weather that day did not disappoint! We had lots of fun the with kids, running and jumping around. We started up on the grass, then headed onto the beach as the sun slowly went down in the afternoon. This session was special to me too! It was the first one we did a vlog for. What’s a vlog you ask? It’s a behind the scene video captured during the session of the family having their portraits. I had my 2 videographers (my two boys) who came along and captured the footage for…
