Mum with her son’s studio portrait
National Family Portrait Month repeat family Jilly and her two boys, Lauchie and Teddy signed up for National Family Portrait Month(NFPM) For those that don’t know NFPM is a charity event organised every year to help raise money for a nominated charity. Every photographer that signs up pays a donation and then participants also pay a donation. This covers the cost of a session with a local nominated photographer that also ensures an image from that session will go into a book collated from all the participants at the end of the year. BAC Photography is proud to have supported NFPM for 4 years in a row now along with…

Family Portrait in the studio – Schitts Creek style
When Matthew got in touch to book their session, he said that he and the family wanted to do their session in the style of ‘Schitts Creek’… If you’re like me and have never heard of it, it’s a TV program on Netflix. So a quick check on google and I had an idea of what they wanted. Mostly something with the two armchairs. In the studio we have the nice cream ‘chaise’ lounge but not arm chairs… thankfully my friend Juanita who runs a hair dressing salon, had two in her waiting area and let me borrow them for the session. Score! So we used the chair arm…

Family Portrait with Twins in the studio
Sandie enquired about a family portrait with me and over the phone let me know their predicament. Although Sandie was Australian, she and her husband and twins, Harland and Isabelle lived in London! They had come out for an extended Christmas vacation and had gotten stuck here with covid and didn’t want to fly back with the twins and risk getting infected… so here they still are, almost at the end of the year now, living with her parents, waiting for things to open up again so they can travel home. Hubby has been super lucky that his company is allowing him to work remotely although the hours are not…

Generations Family Portrait just for Mum – North Lakes
When Mashi got in touch she was organising a big family portrait for her Mother in Laws Birthday It would be for her husband and his 2 brothers, their parents, the brother’s partners and then the grandkids. I just love it when all the family gets together and we have 3 generations! We did the session down at Lake Eden in North Lakes and made sure that not only did we get the whole family together but the grandparents with the grandkids, the brother together, each individual family plus a girls photo and boys photo. The family order Mum (Grandma) a beautiful 30×12” storyboard – one of our most popular…

Fun family portrait Shorncliffe Beach
We booked Frances and her family in for a portrait down at Shorncliffe by the beach and the weather that day did not disappoint! We had lots of fun the with kids, running and jumping around. We started up on the grass, then headed onto the beach as the sun slowly went down in the afternoon. This session was special to me too! It was the first one we did a vlog for. What’s a vlog you ask? It’s a behind the scene video captured during the session of the family having their portraits. I had my 2 videographers (my two boys) who came along and captured the footage for…

Ayvan Newborn Portrait – North Lakes Studio
What a beautiful newborn session. Ayvan made my job easy (He almost slept through the whole session), as did big sister Aanya! It was so lovely to capture images of them together. She was so caring and careful with her new baby brother. We of course captured some beautiful family images with them all together, some with mum and then with dad. Then we did some images of just Ayvan and I was super happy to use the new heart shaped prop. The family ordered one of our 30×12″ framed wall storyboards! I love these. They tell the story of your session and come framed and ready to hang on…

Baby Seth North Lakes Newborn Portrait
When Shanyn came in for their newborn portrait, she said she didn’t want to be in the photos.. “just of Seth’ she said. I asked if she was sure and she said yes. So once fed and settled we began the session and Seth slept nearly the whole time! Nearing the end I asked again if they wanted any family portraits. They will be just close ups of faces and Seth. This time she agreed and I am so glad she did! Not only do I love the photos of them with their little boy but they loved them too. BAC Favourite Photo: The family shot with Mum, Dad and…

All the boys and Mum – Newborn Portrait
What a beautiful family Julia has and just like me she is outnumbered with boys three to 1! I have the same in my family, my husband and then two boys. I think we are lucky 🙂 Older brother Matt was very sweet and caring with his new baby brother Max. They looked so cute together. Just love this image of big brother looking so caringly at his new brother Families favourite image: Family Portrait all together BAC favourite image: Baby wrapped up like a bon bon

Haskin Family Portrait – Deception Bay Woodland
Justine choose one of my favourite local locations spots, Deception Bay Woodlands. It’s a forest area in a little pocket of Deception Bay that backs onto North Lakes. I love it here for the variety but also the quiet. You get very few people coming along here… just the odd local who knows this little path is there. We started with some family shots along the treeline and then headed down to the little stream where the sun really peaks through the trees. Then to finish a walk down the beautiful woodland lane.
