Mum and son sunset portrait Field of Dreams
It is so important to make sure that you, as a mum have photos with your kids. To give them memories to look back on. To share, to print to love.
I just loved doing this session for Vicky and her son Oliver. He was quite shy to start with but by the end of the session he had opened up and we had them dancing in the field together.
The location for this session I call, ‘Field of dreams’. It is one of very few places in Brisbane where you can photograph people in the long grass with a beautiful sunset. I found out about it from another local photographer and use it occasionally for sessions.

When I first started using this spot, there was no one coming here, then I came one Saturday and it was like Paddy’s market! The rest of Brisbane found out about it and now it gets really busy, especially on a weekend. This is exactly why we chose a midweek day for the session, to beat the crowds.
As Oliver started shy, he was super cuddly with mum which made for some amazing shots. After a little while the smiles came and we roamed around the field between my favourite spots, using both the trees, the path and the long grass for the session, finishing with a silhouette right on sunset.
