It was a stifling hot day as the girls were getting ready. The fan’s were going, the aircon was going and still it was HOT!
By the time I met the boys at the beautiful Bundaleer Gardens though, the storm clouds had gathered overhead and the treat of rain and or a storm was in the air. All the guests were checking the weather sites to see what was happening. No it’s fine, they said, no rain here, they said.
As the bride arrived in the car, the thunder started to rumble and as the bridesmaids walked down the isle the lightening started to crack. Still we carried on.
Not long into the service and it started. Sprinkling at first, then heavier and heavier. By the time they exchanged rings it was lashing down and while they were signing the resister the guests were ushered undercover and the Bride and Groom followed… that’s when the hail started! Yes HAIL!
While everyone congratulated the Bride and Groom under the deafening sound on rain on the tin roof the staff at Bundaleer worked hard to stop the patio from flooding and then just as quickly as it had come over, out came a rainbow and the sun appeared. We finished the afternoon around the lovely grounds of Bundaleer Gardens bathed in sunshine, like nothing had happened.
From there everyone partied on into the evening until the Bride and Groom bid everyone farwell.
What a super awesome day, if not with a bit of drama, but awesome all the same.
Congratulations Ashley and Shaun, it was a pleasure to photograph and share with you, your wedding day.
