Photography Location Guide – Red Beach

Red Beach

Ideal Brisbane Family Portrait Location for Beach Sessions

Overall Rating

Bribie Island has some amazing beaches and this one is no exception. It is also hard to find a sunset on the beach on the East Coast of Australia. But as Bribie is an island just off the coast, it is able to offer a jaw dropping sunset over Moreton Bay.

Access & Parking

At the southern end of Bribie Island you will leave the bitumen road and finish the drive on a dirt track. When you reach the end of the track, there is plenty of parking, so long as you don’t mind getting your car dirty. This spot is no good for anyone who is unsteady on their feet as there are no concrete paths here, just dirt and sand.

Amenities

Due to the remoteness of this location there are no toilet facilities close by. Nor is there a drinking fountain or any shops.

Best time of day for your sessions

Red Beach is ideal for a sunset portrait. Although it is on the southern end of the Island, the beach opens up to the full view of that sun going down over the water. It really is beautiful. Red beach is an off leash do beach and although you don’t have to have a dog to come here for a portrait. You need to ensure everyone comfortable with dogs.

Variety

This location offers some amazing portrait backdrops:

  1. On the track
  2. By the trees
  3. On the sand
  4. Sunset on the beach

Wow Factor

This spot is rather different to some of the other locations we use and although it is a bit of a walk on a dirt path, the sunset up here is worth it!
