Photography Location Guide – Lake Eden, North Lakes

Ideal Family Portrait Location for All Portrait Photography

This would have to be my most popular used outdoor location. Not only is it a beautiful and versatile family portrait location, it is also just down the road from our North Lakes Studio and we can use this location for both morning and afternoon sessions.

Access and Parking ★★★★

There are actually two spots at Lake Eden that I use and they are within 300 metres of each other. One for morning sessions and the other for my afternoon sessions. Parking and access is the same for both. It is accessed via Lochside Drive and there are several parking bays along here to use for parking however on the weekends they can be busy.

Once parked up there is a short walk via a concrete path down to where we commence the sessions which is suitable for those who are unsteady on their feet.

Amenities ★★

This North Brisbane Portrait location does not have any amenities. There are no toilets are either location nor is there a drinking fountain or a rest spot, so it is best to come prepared if you require any food or refreshments. The closest toilets and café is around the other side of Lake Eden by North Lakes Hotel.

Best time of day for your session ★★★★

This location is great for morning or afternoon sessions, whatever the weather, sun, cloud or even stormy skies. Morning sessions here are best before 10am and afternoon around an hour before sunset. Not only is Lake Eden popular for portraits but you will also find it quite busy with those out walking the dogs or exercising. When using this spot, we just need to be mindful of those around.

The wow factor here is the variety of backdrops we can use for a session and the beautiful sun-drenched trees in the afternoon.

In Summary

This location is great for all portrait styles, family, pets, children’s, maternity and even large group generations. There is something for everyone here, from the bridge to the trees to green field too. This location has it all… if you don’t mind the locals walking past, then this location could be perfect for you.
