Newborn session in the Studio
Andrea got in touch looking for a newborn session when baby Wyatt was just 1 week old. When your pregnant, life flies by so fast, and the 9 months are gone before you know it! It often happens that mums look to book in a newborn session while pregnant, but before they know it, bubs are born, and you find yourself looking for a photographer! I was grateful to be available that week for the family. We got them booked in and did Wyatt’s newborn portraits when he was just 12 days old. To be incorporated into the session, the family brought with them a beautiful knit blanket and bonnet…

What a great weekend at the PBC Expo for BAC Photography!
So far this year, Valentine’s weekend was probably one of BAC Photography’s favourites. Belinda, Sinead and Jill got to spend the weekend at their first Pregnancy, Baby and Children’s Expo at the Exhibition and Convention Centre, in South Brisbane. A lot of people always comment how lucky Belinda is, being able to spend her days creating beautiful memories for people, but also being able to cuddle babies, play with children, take beautiful portraits, and (of course) play with puppies; so, this weekend was another one to add to the list of amazing experiences. We spent the weekend meeting soon to be parents, animal lovers, growing families and learned about their…

Mummy and Me – Studio Portrait
Mum and her son – Nicholas Anja came to us through National Family Portrait Month. One of our charity programs that we participate in every year. This year we were raising money for BeyondBlue. Little Nicholas was just 4 months old when they came in for their session. Still happy with tummy time but not yet sitting up. Anja had an arm work out to start with not just holding Nicholas but lifting him in the air for some big smiles. When then sat them on the couch and finished with a little cuddle. He was pretty tired by the end… it’s hard work being a model! This was…

Pet Portrait in the North Lakes studio
When Lyndal got in touch, she wanted a beautiful photos of her 3 dogs, Rose, Poppy and Violet. Plus she wanted to incorporate the image of an old dog that had since passed away, in a nice big wall piece. She said on the phone that they were quite difficult at the vet so she wasn’t sure how we would go getting them all together for a photo. I told her not to worry and to leave it to me! The session went fantastic. We got a few beautiful photos of them all together and nice individuals as well and some of them paired up together. I also edited the…

Outdoor Newborn Portrait in North Lakes
Newborn portrait with Milly the Labrador When Samantha got in touch to book her newborn session, she really wanted something outdoors and to include their first child (so to speak) their Labrador Milly. We arranged a session for Lake Samsonvale nice and early in the morning with Grandma coming along to help with the dog during the session. On the morning of it was overcast, but no rain forecast, so I set off for the lake. As I arrived, it was pouring down! Worse than that, the council had closed the park (no idea why) and the big yellow barrier was across the entrance. I phoned Samantha and we…

Couples portrait at Shorncliffe Beach
It was a truly stunning morning down at Shorncliffe Pier for Elisa and Michael’s portrait session. The sun was shining, although it was a little fresh for the 8am start. We walked all over the park. Starting at the jetty, then the trees, on the grass and then out onto the beach to finish. Having had their last photo shoot done in New York, the look and feel this time was totally different (which is of course what they were aiming for). It was super lovely to meet this couple and update their portrait collection. Couples favourite photo: on the jetty BAC Favourite photo: back to me looking at…

Family Portrait in the morning sun at Shorncliffe
It was so lovely to see Kylie, Jamie and little Lucas again! They booked in with me last year through National Family Portrait Month and when the charity was running again, they jumped at the chance to book in again and update their family portrait, especially while Lucas is young and growing and changing so much. Lucas was no different to last time. A boy who was on the move! Things to do, adventures to have. I remember by boys being just the same. They loved the beach and the sand, the rocks and the sticks. Shorncliffe Pier is a super special spot for Kylie and Jamie, as they had…

Isla’s Newborn Portrait Session
North Lake Studio Newborn It was a beautiful session we had with Isla, Mum and Dad. She didn’t really want to go to sleep to start and was more overstimulated when I soothed her. We still got some beautiful photos even while she was awake, including using the new heart shaped bowl again. I also loved that the family had their own wrap to use as well ( the pretty floral one) as well as the white outfit she had on for the full family photos as well. It is always more important to me to use props and outfits that you have, than ones I have in the…
